TeamMONASH’s Result is “No mean feat”

Monash University Alpine team has claimed gold in the Cross Country Relay Individual Women, as well as bronze in Individual Male, earning the fourth in overall title at the 2014 Snow Sports event.

Martin Doulton, Director of TeamMONASH, is delighted to see the team representing the University so well and showing a great team spirit in the event.

“We competed strongly across a number of disciplines, often against Winter Olympians, and to finish in fourth place overall in such company is no mean feat and our strongest team performance for many years,” he said.

This year TeamMONASH sent out the largest team representing Monash to attend the Snow Sports Australian University Champions, which took place from 3to 6 September at Mt Buller, Victoria.

The Alpine team also achieved bronze in the female overall title with the help of one of Monash’s athletic stars, Ewa Potoczny, who won gold in Alpine Giant Slalom and silver in Skier Cross.

The team has now focused their sight to win the trophy next year. For the full detail of the result please click here.
