Monash Students Representing in Gallipoli Games

A few selected (and very lucky) Monash students will be retracing our ancestors steps when they travel to Gallipoli, Turkey to perform in the inaugural 2015 Gallipoli Games.

Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli campaign, the biennial multisport event was initially set to be held from Saturday 25 April to Wednesday 29 April and brings together all the countries which participated in the campaign: Turkey, Australia, NZ, Great Britain, France, Germany and India. After a shock decision on Thursday 16 April the games have been postponed to a pending date September.

The Gallipoli Games gives student athletes the unique opportunity to reflect upon past sacrifices whilst celebrating the friendship and respect shared by these countries today. Despite the setback in dates, participants are excited and are taking this additional time to prepare.

The Australian team is comprised of the winners of the corresponding sports played at the annual Australian University Games and Monash is proud to say the students below will be participating.
