Monash Student in National Men's University Water Polo Team

Monash student Christopher Perrott represented Australia in the Men’s Water Polo at the World University Games in Gwangju, Korea. The Men’s UniRoos Water Polo team finished 7th overall, after only losing three of their nine matches.
The team's ability was never in doubt after drawing with the eventual Gold Medallist's, Hungary, and beating the Silver Medallist's, Italy, in the group stage. The team fell just short of  a semi-final birth by losing to Serbia 8-10 in the quarterfinals.

Chris said, “We were happy with how we played as a team for most games. We had some really good results.”

Coming 7th in a tournament with such incredible competition really is an exceptional achievement.

"We are very proud to have our students, like Chris, participating at the world class level. Monash University is very pleased that it can continue to support them to compete in tournaments like the World University Games," said TeamMONASH Director Martin Doulton
