The Taekwondo event took place over the Saturday and Sunday before the main week of the Australian University Games. After competing fiercely over the two days, our 37 Taekwondo athletes managed to secure the sport's overall Gold Medal.

With 18 Golds, 16 Silvers and 8 Bronze Medals in total, our taekwondo athletes dominated the competition. This spectacular medal tally meant that we secured enough points to be crowned the overall Gold Medalists for the sport.

Worth a special mention are the three athletes from Monash who were selected to be members of the Green and Gold team for the whole competition; Madeleine Henry, Karmen Lam and Michael Luu.

Michael Luu gathered a medal in every event, with 2 Golds, a Silver and a Bronze. Similarly impressive was Danae Smith who won the Gold Medal in each of her three events.
